@ESPNdirocco do you think allen robinson and or cecil shorts will play against the bucs? #jagsquestion

@ESPNdirocco: I'd be surprised if Cecil Shorts played in the preseason opener Aug. 8 because he's expected to miss all of next week. He could possibly be out longer. It just depends on how his hamstring strain responds to treatment. As for Allen Robinson, the Jaguars haven't given us a timetable for his return. I'd expect him to be out for at least a week and that would make his availability against the Bucs doubtful.

@ESPNdirocco: In the roster projections I have done, I don't have Chris Prosinski making the final roster. I have Johnathan Cyprien, Winston Guy, Josh Evans and Joe Young making the team. Things change, though, and an injury or two could push him up the depth chart. Prosinski is a valuable special teams player. He led the team with nine special teams tackles and blocked a punt last season.

@ESPNdirocco: I don't think "elite" is the correct term. Prosinski is a very good special teams player. He has elite speed, though, posting a 4.39 in the 40 during the pre-draft process. As for why fans don't seem to like him, I think it has to do with the fact that he was on the field a lot for a very bad defense in 2012.

@ESPNdirocco: Jordan Todman has looked really good running the football. He's hitting the hole a little quicker and has shown good burst. He wasn't much of a factor last year but did a solid job filling in for Maurice Jones-Drew as the starter against Buffalo, but I think he'll be a bigger part of the offense this season. The biggest disappointment is Cecil Shorts getting injured on the first day of camp. This is a big year for him. He's in the final year of his contract and is looking for a new deal so he needs to play well. Missing at least two weeks with a hamstring injury isn't exactly getting off to a good start. Though GM David Caldwell denied it, I think there's still an element of wanting to see Shorts prove that he can stay healthy (he has missed 11 games in three years). This isn't helping that.

@ESPNdirocco: Jacques McClendon hasn't gotten enough reps at the spot for me to evaluate whether he's done a better job than Mike Brewster. That's something that will go on throughout camp and the preseason so we'll be able to get a better feel for it later. Let's see if McClendon gets any snaps during Saturday's scrimmage.

@ESPNdirocco: No. Telvin Smith is working in the nickel package right now and Gus Bradley said Thursday the plan right now is to use Geno Hayes on first and second down and Smith on third down.

@ESPNdirocco: It depends on how quickly he develops, but the ideal scenario from the Jaguars' perspective is not to have Blake Bortles on the field until the 2015 season. Right now Chad Henne gives the Jaguars a better chance to win.

@ESPNdirocco: Marqise Lee has definitely been the most impressive rookie. I was talking with another writer Thursday and we came up with smooth as the best way to describe the former USC standout. Everything seems effortless and he seems to kind of glide across the field. He may not make a big impact this season but he will eventually.

@ESPNdirocco: That's hard for me to say because I've not been in every other NFL stadium, but I can say this with certainty: There isn't a stadium with bigger video boards and none of them have pools. That sets EverBank Field apart and certainly puts it at the forefront in terms of the wow factor.
