JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars released their unofficial depth chart in advance of Friday's preseason opener against Tampa Bay. Here is the two-deep along with some quick thoughts:
OFFENSE
QB: Chad Henne and Blake Bortles
No surprise here. GM David Caldwell said Bortles would be the backup
RB: Toby Gerhart and Jordan Todman
Denard Robinson is No. 3, ahead of rookie Storm Johnson.
FB: Will Ta'ufo'ou and Bradie Ewing
They're the only fullbacks in camp.
WR: Marqise Lee and Mike Brown
Brown has been the most dependable receiver in camp.
WR: Cecil Shorts and Allen Robinson
Since neither is going to play against the Bucs, it's likely going to be Kerry Taylor and Lamaar Thomas.
TE: Marcedes Lewis and Brandon Barden
Barden had three catches in the scrimmage and appears to be ahead of the rest of the group with Clay Harbor out with a calf injury
LT: Luke Joeckel and Cameron Bradfield
Joeckel has had a very good camp.
LG: Zane Beadles and Drew Nowak
Nowak is battling Patrick Lewis and Tyler Shatley for a roster spot.
C: Mike Brewster and Luke Bowanko
Brewster has been the best center in camp.
RG: Jacques McClendon and Brandon Linder
Linder had been working with the first unit until he suffered a sprained foot last week.
RT: Austin Pasztor and Sam Young
GM David Caldwell is very high on Pasztor.
DEFENSE
LDE: Red Bryant and Tyson Alualu
Both have had solid camps so far.
DT: Roy Miller and Abry Jones
If Miller's surgically repaired shoulder holds up, he will make a big difference against the run.
DT: Sen'Derrick Marks and Ziggy Hood
Hood returns to his natural position after five years of playing outside in Pittsburgh
Leo: Chris Clemons and Andre Branch
The Jags are hoping Clemons can return to double-digit sack totals.
OLB Geno Hayes and Telvin Smith
Hayes on first and second down and Smith on third down and in nickel situations.
MLB: Paul Posluszny and Nate Stupar
Stupar has gotten a lot of work in camp and has been solid.
Otto: LaRoy Reynolds and Marcus Whitfield
This job belongs to Dekoda Watson (groin) whenever he gets back on the field.
LCB: Dwayne Gratz and Will Blackmon
Blackmon also will work inside.
RCB: Alan Ball and Demetrius McCray
Ball returned to practice today so how much he'll play this week is uncertain.
SS: Johnathan Cyprien and Chris Prosinski
Jags eager to see if Cyprien is ready to take the next step.
FS: Winston Guy and Sherrod Martin
Joe Young has gotten a lot of work with the second unit.
