EARTH CITY, Mo. -- The St. Louis Rams suffered a crushing blow to their defense with the loss of linebacker Alec Ogletree to ankle surgery on Tuesday. But while that looms as the worst injury news the team has, the good news is that they are mostly healthy aside from Ogletree's absence.
Defensive end Eugene Sims and running back/special teamer Chase Reynolds were listed as full participation in Wednesday's practice and look to be on track to return from knee injuries. Sims and Reynolds suffered their injuries in Week 1 against Seattle and have missed each of the past three games.
Sims and Reynolds are key depth players for the Rams, with Reynolds serving as one of the team's best special teams players and Sims offering versatility all across the defensive line.
Meanwhile, Ogletree and safety Maurice Alexander (groin) were the only two Rams not to practice.
A quick rundown of the team's Wednesday injury report:
Full participation -- DE Eugene Sims (knee), RB Chase Reynolds (knee)
Did not participate -- LB Alec Ogletree (ankle), S Maurice Alexander (groin)
