MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Vikings got started with their first round of roster cuts on Sunday afternoon, releasing 11 players in advance of Tuesday's deadline. The Vikings will have to cut three more players by Tuesday afternoon to drop to 75 players.
None of the cuts are particularly surprising; the Vikings slashed primarily from the positions where they have some depth, such as wide receiver, running back, tight end and the defensive backfield. Tight end Brandon Bostick is probably the most prominent name on the list (though obviously for a gaffe he committed elsewhere). Running back Joe Banyard is the longest-tenured Viking on the list; Banyard was active for 15 games last season, carrying 21 times for 88 yards.
Here is the full list of the Vikings' roster cuts:
RB Joe Banyard
TE Brandon Bostick
CB Jalil Carter
LB Josh Kaddu
