EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Wide receiver Jarius Wright, who did not practice with the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday while he dealt with a family issue, was back with the team on Wednesday, getting his first work since the Vikings' loss to Green Bay last Thursday.
"It felt good," Wright said. "After missing yesterday, I didn't know how I'd feel, or what type of shape I'd be in, coming off the little break, but it felt pretty good today."
Wright said he was home in Arkansas over the weekend, dealing with a family issue that lingered into Tuesday. He didn't want to elaborate on what had happened, other than to say the matter is taken care of now. "It was a one-day thing," Wright said.
The receiver has caught 14 passes for 196 yards through the Vikings' first five games, and is only 12 catches away from matching his career high already. "Everybody knows about Cordarrelle Patterson and Greg Jennings out wide," Wright said. "I'm more of an under-the-radar type guy. I'm not really sure a lot of teams game-plan for me, so let's get it to the guy they don't game-plan for. I'm fine with that."
The Vikings only had Patterson practicing in a limited capacity on Wednesday, after he injured his hip last Thursday in Green Bay, but Patterson is expected to play Sunday against Detroit. Defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd was also limited with an elbow injury. Linebacker Chad Greenway (broken ribs) and safety Harrison Smith (ankle) did not practice, though coach Mike Zimmer said Smith will likely play Sunday and Greenway could try to practice later this week.
Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was a full participant on Wednesday, after returning from his sprained left ankle. Running back Jerick McKinnon (ankle), linebacker Michael Mauti (foot) and running back Matt Asiata (groin) also participated in full.
