FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- LeGarrette Blount, who projects as the New England Patriots' lead running back, left Friday's practice after injuring his right leg.
Blount, who among other things appeared to be having his right knee examined by the athletic training staff, walked off the field slowly under his own power after remaining down for a few minutes.
At one point, while Blount lay prone on the ground, coach Bill Belichick approached him, which reflected the general concern of the situation.
The Patriots are practicing in full pads, and Blount was injured on a running play when an offensive lineman appeared to be blocked into him.
His absence from practice moves Jonas Gray up a notch on the depth chart.
