FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots host the New York Giants at Gillette Stadium in the preseason finale for both teams (7:30 p.m. ET):
Why watch: To see which player is still on the field late in the game that perhaps wasn't expected to be, thus highlighting how his roster spot might be in jeopardy. Receiver Aaron Dobson, a 2013 second-round draft choice from Marshall, is one player who comes to mind who could be playing for a job. He was the intended receiver on Tom Brady's two interceptions last Friday against the Panthers, although that doesn't necessarily mean it was all his fault. The Patriots have had a run of injuries at receiver and Dobson should play a lot. The Patriots also claimed receiver DaVaris Daniels from the Vikings and traded with the Saints for receiver/return specialist Jalen Saunders to bolster depth at the position for this game.
Did you know: This marks the 11th straight year that the Patriots and Giants meet in the preseason finale. The Patriots have faced the Giants more than any other team in the preseason with 24 matchups (the Eagles are second with 22 games). The teams will meet again in the regular season at Gillette Stadium on Nov. 15.
