FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Former New England Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones (it's going to take a little while getting used to writing that) struck a classy note on Thursday night, tweeting a congratulatory message to veteran defensive end Chris Long, who agreed to a one-year deal with the Patriots the day Jones was traded to the Arizona Cardinals.
Long appreciated the gesture and responded in kind.
Thanks bro it's all respect. I will try to carry the torch my bro. Make sure you get after the rams for me https://t.co/pq93D0z6yA

With Jones traded, the Patriots figure to elevate Jabaal Sheard to a starting role alongside Rob Ninkovich, with Long joining the mix of second-year players Geneo Grissom, Trey Flowers and Rufus Johnson.
Jones has fond memories of his time in New England, relaying to fans via video that he would miss them.
