The New Orleans Saints are bringing back offensive lineman Mike Golic Jr. for another summer audition. Golic, who was briefly with the Saints last summer, agreed to terms on a new deal with New Orleans, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Caplan.
Golic, the son of former NFL standout and current ESPN radio host Mike Golic, has yet to crack an NFL roster after going undrafted out of Notre Dame in 2013. The 25-year-old spent his first summer with the Pittsburgh Steelers but was released after the preseason. Then he spent about three weeks with the Saints last May before being released when New Orleans re-signed veteran center Jonathan Goodwin.
Golic lined up as the Saints' third-string center, though the 6-foot-4, 300-pound lineman spent time at guard and tackle with the Steelers.
After being released by the Saints last year, Golic went to training camp with the Canadian Football League's Montreal Alouettes. He also played for the Brooklyn Bolts in the Fall Experimental League and participated in the inaugural NFL veteran combine in March.
