ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Observed and heard in the locker room after the Kansas City Chiefs' 17-13 win over the Buffalo Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium:
The Chiefs like their three-tight end formations a lot but couldn't use them Sunday. Demetrius Harris broke his foot during pregame warm-ups and was unavailable to play.
Quarterback Alex Smith said he was feeling no pain despite being sacked six times. "Right now you feel great," he said. "You don't feel anything."
Coach Andy Reid acknowledged the Chiefs were saving the play on which Jamaal Charles scored his 39-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter for just such a situation. Charles' touchdown came on fourth-and-1, and he took an outside pitch from Smith. "It was the perfect play against that defense," said guard Mike McGlynn of the aggressive Bills.
