GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Chicago Bears gave up a franchise-record 42 points in the first half against Green Bay on Sunday at Lambeau Field as Aaron Rodgers carved up the defense for six touchdown passes.
With 19 seconds remaining in the first half, Rodgers hit Randall Cobb for an 18-yard touchdown, with Mason Crosby tacking on the extra-point kick to make the score 42-0. Despite an extra week of preparation for Sunday's NFC North showdown against the Packers, the Bears, in their second-consecutive outing, set a franchise record for points allowed in a half.
The Bears surrendered 38 points in the first half against the New England Patriots on Oct. 26, which broke the previous record of 34 points allowed in a half set on Oct. 4, 1958 at Baltimore.
Rodgers connected on 18-of-24 passes for 315 yards and six touchdowns for a passer rating of 156.2.
The Bears have now been outscored 94-7 in the first half of their last three contests.
