GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Observed and heard in the locker room after the Chicago Bears' 55-14 loss to the Green Bay Packers:
Adequate preparation: Bears left tackle Jermon Bushrod echoed coach Marc Trestman’s sentiment that the team is preparing adequately, yet all the work performed on the practice field isn’t transferring on game day.
“Our preparation is awesome. This is my eighth year in the league, and we come to practice and we compete every single day. We’re out there, we’re getting after it. We’re finding a way to get better,” Bushrod said. “We have our plans. We meet more than any team I know of. We get a game plan, and then when we come out here and don’t execute, it’s not good at all. It sucks. It doesn’t feel good. We come out here and we execute our plans at practice. We get great looks. We come out, execute, protect and open holes. Then we come out here, and we don’t get the job done because they changed some things around. That’s on us. We’ve got to find a way to get it done.”
Briggs keeps quiet: Linebacker Lance Briggs returned to the lineup after missing the last three games due to a rib injury, but he declined to speak with reporters after Sunday's game, in which he was officially credited for contributing three tackles.
