Cut day is among the toughest in an athlete’s career, no doubt. But San Francisco 49ers receiver Issac Blakeney, an undrafted rookie out of Duke, seemed to take his release Friday in stride.
Rather, he used some humor.
After not catching a pass in the preseason, Blakeney was among six players cut on Friday, along with veterans Darnell Dockett, Craig Dahl, Philip Wheeler, Joe Looney and fellow undrafted free agent Patrick Miller. Blakeney posted the following on Twitter:
