The Seattle Seahawks were back at practice Friday morning. Below is a rundown of observations.
10:12 a.m. PT -- In injury news, RB Thomas Rawls and TE Jimmy Graham continue to be sidelined. Pete Carroll said Thursday that they are getting really close, but there's still no change to their PUP status. Running backs C.J. Prosise and Zac Brooks continue to be out with hamstring injuries.
Wide receiver Doug Baldwin missed another day of practice after he got his leg stepped on earlier in the week. But he was running around quite a bit with trainers and caught balls with the quarterbacks. Baldwin should be back soon. Strong safety Kam Chancellor (groin) did not participate, but that didn't stop a fan from awkwardly yelling, "Kam in the house!" when Chancellor walked onto the field. The poor guy didn't get a response.
10:25 a.m. PT -- An impressive streak worth mentioning for middle linebacker Bobby Wagner. By my unofficial count, he's lip-synced "My Way" by Fetty Wap during every practice this summer. Friday, his routine seemed to get cut short a bit because Wagner was needed for special-teams work.
10:33 a.m. PT -- Michael Bennett was back on the field today and in good spirits. No Seahawks player interacts with the fans more during these sessions than Bennett. He slaps hands with them before drills, constantly calls for noise and really makes them feel like part of the action.
11:15 a.m. PT -- The one-on-one drills between offensive and defensive linemen have produced fireworks throughout camp, but that wasn't the case today. Garry Gilliam handled Cassius Marsh's edge rush. Justin Britt did a good job against Jarran Reed. And Bennett slipped past Germain Ifedi. Afterward, he gave the rookie an encouraging tap.
One player to keep an eye on is undrafted free agent defensive tackle Brandin Bryant. He seems to show up every day and has been very difficult to block during the one-on-one drills. Here, he beat rookie Rees Odhiambo.
Offensive lineman Will Pericak grabs a hold of Quinton Jefferson's jersey during one rep. Bennett calmly calls them both over to offer some pointers afterward.
11:23 a.m. PT -- Well, this didn't take long. It's not Seahawks training camp until Tom Cable starts shuffling the offensive line. During team drills, it's Gilliam at right tackle and George Fant at left tackle. The odd man out? Free-agent signee J'Marcus Webb, who goes with the second team. Webb was banged-up during the spring, and this is a clear sign that he's not where the team wants him to be.
Earlier during practice, Odhiambo got some reps at right tackle, according to Stephen Cohen of SeattlePI.com.
Linebacker Eric Pinkins doesn't bite on play-action, but he gets juked by QB Trevone Boykin who scrambles and picks up positive yardage. Pinkins isn't happy with himself and drops down for some pushups.
One thing that's clear during this camp is that the veterans are invested in helping the younger players. Baldwin's injured, but he's in the huddle with the third-team offense trying to be of service.
11:47 a.m. PT -- Another team period, another right tackle. This time, it's Terry Poole. A fourth-round pick last season, Poole has looked much improved after spending 2015 on the practice squad.
With the offensive line, Carroll has made it clear that he doesn't want to follow last year's process when the team used the first part of the season to figure out who the best five options were. The guess here is that Gilliam (left tackle), Mark Glowinski (left guard) and Ifedi (right guard) are pretty much set. We'll see how Britt does at center in the preseason. But right tackle is clearly up for grabs right now.
During 11-on-11s, Russell Wilson lofts a pass into the end zone to Jermaine Kearse for a touchdown. Wilson hasn't received a ton of pub this camp with all of the other storylines, but he's been consistent and accurate throughout. If the Seahawks can get their line situation figured out, Wilson is in position to have another monster year.
12:00 p.m. PT -- That's a wrap for today. The Seahawks have a walk-through Saturday and then a scrimmage on Sunday.
