In his first season with the Seattle Seahawks, Jimmy Graham caught 48 balls for 605 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games before suffering a ruptured patellar tendon injury.
Graham returned to practice off the PUP list last week but has yet to participate fully.
Jimmy Graham
ESPN Fantasy Projection: 79.7 catches, 618.7 yards, 6.7 TDs
Over or under: He's probably the most difficult projection on the Seahawks because of the injury, but I'll go under on the numbers above. Graham has yet to do anything at full speed in practice and is still sitting out team drills.Pete Carroll recently allowed for the possibility that Graham could miss the beginning of the regular sesaon.
ESPN injury analyst Stephania Bell recently explained why Graham's injury is so difficult to return from. It's tough to regain explosion, and Graham even said that athletes have told him that rushing back can lead to other injuries.
By all accounts, Graham has been fully invested in his rehab, and he is a special athlete. But given the uncertainty involved with this specific injury, it's difficult to take the over here.
Who else could see time: If Graham isn't ready by Week 1, Luke Willson will be the starter. And the Seahawks drafted Nick Vannett in the third round. But this is mostly an 11 personnel team (one RB, one TE, three WRs). Graham is a question mark, and none of the other tight ends figure to have fantasy value.
