Notes:
This isn’t the shape I think the roster will necessarily take after cuts around the league and waiver claims.
I’m heavy on defensive line and thin at linebacker, but I’m keeping the best players.
Last on for me is Martin. Last off for me is receiver Tre McBride. If he doesn’t make the roster, they surely hope to get him on the practice squad. Ken Whisenhunt complimented McBride's special teams play in Week 2, but it would be very hard to keep six receivers active. Martin is an NFL player. But the Titans are awfully crowded on the defensive line.
I cut Andy Levitre, the expensive guard who is now a backup, keeping Will Poehls instead. Poehls can play tackle and guard and has done well with his second-team chances. I’ve asked where the developing, obscure young guy is on the line. He’s in, though he could be a practice-squadder for a second season.
Others on the fence here: ILB Zaviar Gooden and TE Phillip Supernaw (as opposed to Coffman).
The player among those I cut most likely to be picked up: Safety Josh Aubrey.
