LANDOVER, Md. -- Receiver DeSean Jackson will not play in Washington's preseason opener Thursday against the New England Patriots because of a minor ankle injury suffered in practice Wednesday.
Jackson is one of seven Redskins who won't play Thursday, including fellow receiver Pierre Garcon, who has a hamstring injury. The other Redskins who won't play Thursday: cornerback Tracy Porter, safety Ryan Clark, tight end Mike Caussin, safety Phillip Thomas and guard/center Mike McGlynn.
Clark and Thomas both were nursing hamstring injuries this week. The others had been practicing all week.
