This could change many times between now and the start of the regular season in September but here's a look at what the starting offensive lineup of the Kansas City Chiefs could look like, based on the players available today.
Quarterback: Alex Smith. The Chiefs are committed to Smith as their starter for the third straight season. Nothing but an injury would change that. 2014 starter: Smith.
Fullback: Anthony Sherman. He's mostly utilized as a blocker and he's been a good one since joining the Chiefs in 2013. 2014 starter: Sherman.
Running back: Jamaal Charles. Injuries limited Charles to 206 carries last year, fewest in a full season for him since 2009. 2014 starter: Charles.
Tight end: Travis Kelce. He led the Chiefs with 67 catches and 862 receiving yards last season as a part-time player. Imagine what he can do as a full-timer. 2014 starter: Anthony Fasano.
Wide receiver: Jeremy Maclin. Let's see whether Maclin can energized a lethargic passing game and to what extent. 2014 starter: Dwayne Bowe.
Wide receiver: Albert Wilson. The Chiefs will probably add at least one more receiver through free agency or the draft so Wilson might not be the starter. Either way, he will play a lot. 2014 starter: Donnie Avery.
Slot receiver: De'Anthony Thomas. For now, at least, it looks like the Chiefs might have a rotation here that also features Jason Avant, Junior Hemingway and possibly Wilson. 2014 regulars: Thomas, Hemingway and Avant.
Left tackle: Eric Fisher. He was better last season than he was as a rookie, but he still has a long way to go. 2014 starter: Fisher.
Left guard: Ben Grubbs. The former Pro Bowler was acquired from New Orleans in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick. 2014 starter: Mike McGlynn.
Center: Eric Kush. The former sixth-round draft pick's hold on this job seems tenuous at best. The Chiefs could fill it through the draft or free agency. 2014 starter: Rodney Hudson.
Right guard: Paul Fanaika. He was signed from the Arizona Cardinals as a free agent. Could have a battle in training camp for this spot with Zach Fulton and Jeff Allen. 2014 starter: Fulton.
Right tackle: Allen. He will return after missing all but the season-opener last year because of an elbow injury. Donald Stephenson could win this job instead. 2014 starter: Ryan Harris.
