Doug Pederson came up in a tight-end-friendly system and plans to feature the position prominently in Year 1 as coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. Expect to see two- and even three-tight-end sets as Pederson tries to maximize the talent he has in that room while working around a potential deficiency at wide receiver. Here's how it may translate from a fantasy perspective:
ESPN Fantasy Projection: 856 yards, 6 TDs
Over or under: I'll go over on the yards, under on the touchdowns. Ertz is going to be leaned on heavily in this offense and could very well be in line for a career year. The question is whether he can elevate his scoring production. The 25-year-old was targeted in the end zone seven times last season and walked away with only one touchdown. He finished with three red zone catches for 10 yards and one score in 2015, and has found the end zone five times in all over the past two seasons. While he may experience a surge this year, it seems fair to take a wait-and-see approach.
Who else could see time: Brent Celek had 27 catches last season, his lowest since 2008. The veteran will be on the field a good amount, though, and could find the end zone a couple times. ... Former Florida Gator Trey Burton has had a very good camp and may carve out a role in this offense. He's at least worth keeping an eye on. ... Chris Pantale is eyeing a roster spot but is expected to be primarily used at fullback.
