He led the NFL with 67 receptions through eight weeks last season before suffering a lacerated kidney that ended his 2015 season. Now healthy, the expectation for San Diego Chargers receiver Keenan Allen is that he will pick up where he left off last season.
Keenan Allen
ESPN Fantasy projection: 105.6 catches, 1,196 yards, 6.3 TDs
Over or under: I’ll take the under for two reasons. No. 1, Allen has yet to play a full, 16-game season, finishing the last two years on the injured reserve list. No. 2, QB Philip Rivers likes to spread the ball around, and he has plenty of capable targets besides Allen to get the ball to, including Antonio Gates and Danny Woodhead.
Who else could see time: Speedy wideout Travis Benjamin should develop into a dangerous deep threat for the Chargers, but the player to keep an eye on is Tyrell Williams. At 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, Williams possesses top-end speed and short-area quickness like a small player, yet plays with the physicality of a bigger guy. Williams has developed a good rapport with Rivers.
