ASHBURN, Va. -- The Washington Redskins' decision on whether to rest players vs. the Dallas Cowboys likely will be made easier based on several guys who have been unable to work this week.
And it doesn’t appear that running back Matt Jones will be ready to return Sunday after suffering a setback in his recovery from a hip pointer injury. Jones did not practice Thursday. He aggravated his hip in the last practice before facing Philadelphia -- and it did not feel right after being limited in practice Wednesday.
Here’s a look at the others on the injury list:
S Dashon Goldson: Did not practice for a second consecutive day because of rib/shoulder injuries. It would be real tough to see him playing Sunday.
CB Quinton Dunbar: Sat out a second straight day because of a quad injury. He worked with the trainers off to the side. The Redskins promoted corner Jeremy Harris off the practice squad earlier this week. Bashaud Breeland and Will Blackmon will start at corner.
LT Trent Williams: He was limited because of his knee. Coach Jay Gruden said Williams likely would be a game-time decision. Because of injury concerns with others, the Redskins might have to keep Williams active anyway. But if there’s any doubt it’s hard to see Williams playing.
DB DeAngelo Hall: Was limited for a second consecutive day with a calf injury. If he and Goldson can’t play, then the Redskins would start Jeron Johnson and Kyshoen Jarrett at safety.
DE Jason Hatcher: Limited because of his knee. Hatcher definitely sounds like someone who wants to rest in the finale.
WR DeSean Jackson: Limited because of his knee.
LB Perry Riley Jr.: Limited because of his foot, but there’s a chance he’ll play some Sunday.
RB Pierre Thomas: Limited because of his knee. He sprained it in practice Wednesday on a sharp cut.
